Business Matching

My first day in Phnom Penh started with a business matching with potential buyers and investors which was held at Bistro Lorenzo - a Filipino owned restaurant.

Met with good leads and interested business partners for possible exportation of Philippine fresh Cavendish bananas to Cambodia and nearby countries. Demand is not as big compared to other countries but is definitely worth a try.

After the business matching, we attended several events with the invitation from Ambassador Noe A. Wong, Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia. First was the celebration of the Filipino community of Philippine Independence day. It’s nice to know that Filipinos in Cambodia are well respected by the Cambodians. I had a wonderful time mingling with our co-pinoys during the event.

The second invitation was the Philippine Embassy’s celebration of Philippine Independence Day which was held at the Intercontinental Hotel. Officials from Cambodia and diplomats from other countries were present during the event.

The last day of my official business visit in Phnom Penh ended with a visit to FilMart - a mini-mart owned by a Filipino which sells goods coming from the Philippines.

In all of those activities and events, Assistant Director of Department of Agriculture Asec. Dante S. Delima and Department of Agriculture-Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Service (DA-AMAS) Director, Dir. Leandro Gazmin were with us.

Finally yesterday afternoon we traveled by land to Siem Reap for a much awaited tour to Angkor Wat and other temples. I’ve been itching to go to Siem Reap since day one. Hehehe… The people from the Philippine Embassy arranged our hotel accommodation in Siem Reap. They also helped us in buying our bus tickets. While Katya of Filmart arranged our tour guide. Isn’t it nice to be surrounded with wonderful people:-)

I am excited to share photos of my tour this morning. But I have to rest and prepare for dinner. After dinner will watch an Aspara Dance Show. The Aspara Dance is a Khmer classical dance.

So I will have to make a separate blog about my tour to Angkor Wat:-)

Bye for now:-)

On Travel

I will be away for the next eight days.

I will attend an In-store promotional business matching in Cambodia. We hope to promote and find potential buyers of fresh bananas there.

I will have to fly to Manila because my flight to Phom Penh will be early tomorrow via Singapore.

I am traveling alone but people from Department of Agriculture will meet me in Phom Penh when I arrive.

I hope I will find potential buyers there at the same time enjoy. I really want to tour around and see more of Camodia.

Now boarding for Manila. See yah!

The Other Side

Like many ladies, I love fashion. I love clothes, shoes, bags and accessories.

I am very particular with my looks. I want to always look good.

For me brand is not important. I do wear brand-less or thrifted items. The key is the clothes must fit my personality and body type - highlights what needs to be highlighted (hahaha) and hides my flaws (I am not perfect and I am not a super model). Hahaha

Tiny Kitchen’s Paella
Went out with friends tonight and we had dinner at Tiny Kitchen.
We ordered Chicken Ala Jillo, Beef Mechado and Paella. I am not a Paella lover or any food with colored rice in general but I didn’t object when my friends ordered one. I decided to give it a try.  Hehehe…
I was not disappointed when I tasted Tiny Kitchen’s Paella I was just delicious, I cannot explain the taste. I am happy I gave it a try:-)

Summer 2012
One more week and my little boy will be in school again. He is excited - with yeheey and giggles - when I told him about going to school again.
Unlike last year, I didn’t enroll Mikko to any summer class. He spent most of his time at home with his grandma. But cousins did visit and from time to time playmates dropped by to play.
Staying at home doesn’t mean a boring summer. He had Saturday pool time and little picnic by the garden; he also enjoyed exploring his digital camera; drove a bicycle, watched his favorite cartoon every morning and was busy taking the task of Handy Manny:-)
He went out for some fun too. Aside from his regular visit to the mall, he also went to the beach, visited his grandpa’s hometown (M’Lang Cotabato) for the first time, and was part of a garden wedding entourage.
Looking at the photos, I’m pretty sure my son had a blast this summer.
Like him, I am also excited for this coming school year:-) It will be another year of new challenges and discovers not just for my son but for me too:-)

Tomorrow is my husband’s second death anniversary.
After two years, I continued to live life full of laughter, joy and blessings from above. The statement on the photo above best describes how I viewed everything now.
Just like last year, my family will visit my husband’s grave. I took a one day leave from work. I want to spend more time in the cemetery with my son and I intend to do some cleaning also.
Despite being away for two years, I still miss my husband - that I learned to accept and I will forever carry with me. You simply cannot stop missing a departed loved one no matter what:-) That’s really true:-)
